Eccheli Baisi Palace

Eccheli Baisi Palace

The Palazzo Eccheli Baisi is the 16th-century building in the heart of the town of Brentonico. The green color of the facade makes it a witness to the ancient importance of green earth mines, managed by the Eccheli family, owners of the palace. At one time, green earths were used as dyes for textiles and pigments for oil paints. After the second half of the 19th century, the Palazzo became the residence of the Baisi family, which set up its charcuterie production and resale business there.

Of great impact are, on the ground floor, the double-height salon with balcony, and, on the second floor, the exquisitely frescoed rooms. The third floor houses the permanent exhibition "Farmacia Maturi: itineraries through the history of pharmacy in Trentino." A staircase from the ground floor leads to the garden, from which there is a splendid view of the Plateau. Wrapped around the palace is the "Monte Baldo Fossil Museum."
